Born From A Dream
BRIGHT Ministries started as a dream in Candace’s heart. It originally started out of a place of wanting to see women redeemed, made whole, set free and realize their true identity. This started to take form as a moms and mentors group that met every week. This is still going on under the name BRIGHT moms. BRIGHT Ministries is continuing to grow and mature into the calling and purpose God has for it.
BRIGHT Ministries Vision:
Our vision is to see the women of West Michigan come in to their true identity given by Papa God. We envision a community where women are completely restored, healed, and redeemed. We see events being held where women of all ages and backgrounds come together to receive truth and freedom. We anticipate that BRIGHT will be a place where women encounter the Holy Spirit and are transformed from the inside out. Then these women are raised up and empowered to be leaders and influencers in their homes, communities, and the world.

BRIGHT Ministries Mission:
To come along side women and children in West Michigan to encourage, support and pour in to them. We uplift the women who choose to share their lives with us and provide a safe place where they can belong, learn, and grow. Being led by the Holy Spirit, these women will come alive and thrive in the purpose God has for them
Candace Duckworth
Candace grew up in West Michigan and has called herself a Christian since she was very young. However, she had an encounter with the Holy Spirit when she was an adult that changed her forever. Since then she has been living more fully alive and running after God in a passionate way. Soon after this encounter she was given the vision for starting what would later become BRIGHT Ministries. She is now the Executive Director of BRIGHT Ministries. She currently lives in West Michigan with her husband and three children.
Dr. Ryan Duckworth
Dr. Ryan Duckworth is a Licensed Psychologist currently practicing at Hope & Wholeness Psychology Center. He is passionate about seeing people changed when they experience the depth of the love God has for them. He is currently acting as the treasurer and secretary on the board of BRIGHT Ministries. He currently lives in West Michigan with his wife and three children.
Cindy VanderWal
Cindy resides in Hudsonville, MI with her husband Dan and adult daughter Danielle. They also have two adult sons, Kyle (married to Kate) and Tyler. Nia and Mabel are their two beloved cats. If she had the green light, she could easily be a cat lady, but she doesn’t, it’s red, no more than two. Cindy loves scripture and when Holy Spirit reveals something new and deep for her to ponder. Seeing people find their true identity in Christ and a new perspective on God’s call in their life, gives her great joy. The process of that transformation is beautiful.
Mary Jane Geers
Mary Jane earned a degree in social work and worked as a youth counselor in residential treatment for several years. Being raised in a Christian home, she often thought, “people just need Jesus”. Then several years ago, she was introduced to a prayer ministry that helped her to obtain seemingly impossible, powerful, personal, breakthroughs! Ever since, she has grown in the revelation of a completely new life purchased by Christ Jesus and empowered by the Holy Spirit. She has walked alongside countless other women while they receive this same revelation and longs for all to live in God’s life-transforming love and truth! Mary Jane is grateful for a loving and gracious family, including a husband of 32 years, three daughters, one son-in-law and two grandchildren.
